A long weekend requires brunch. I cannot think of any better way to brunch than a DIY Waffle Bar with all the toppings.
I’m a huge fan of brunch. I was super close to having a brunch wedding, maybe for a vow renewal down the line 😉
Brunch is the perfect opportunity to invite friends over and feast, drink, play giant Jenga and watch silly youtube videos. My friends know brunch is my thing and these waffles have been requested multiple times. Last night my sister and I went to see Jumanji and afterwords she slept over at my apartment. This morning we had waffles, yummy, buttery, soft, thick waffles with all our favorite toppings. We noshed while watching all her favorite youtube videos (Zoella and lolShaneDawson) and laughing at my silly dogs. It was a perfect sisterly morning!
Putting together a waffle bar is pretty low key. This past birthday of mine i put together a waffle bar, breakfast taco bar and mimosa bar for my birthday party…yes I catered my own birthday party because I’m crazy and LOVE cooking. Anyways, I was feeding about twenty people and set up the waffle bar hotel style, left the batter out with a ladle and had people make their own waffles at their leisure. If you have fewer people, less than ten you could easily just make the waffles ahead of time and keep them in the oven on a low temp until ready to serve and voila!
Let’s talk toppings. Possibilities are basically endless, but these are my go-to’s.
Syrup. Freshly made whip cream. Berries. Walnuts. Chocolate chips.
Other toppings I love are different types of jams, caramel syrup, bananas and nutella, granola, candied bacon! Make it a real party and have fried chicken or seared pork belly!
Go crazy or keep it simple. As long as the waffles are on point you’ll be good.
And these waffles my friends, are on point.
